The flexibility of the Pol-E-Base and the waterproofing
qualities of White Plastic make the Pol-E-Base roofing System a superior
renewable roof. The self
adhered products are cold applied and require no special installation
tools. The fully adhered monolithic system requires no mechanical
fasteners or metal flashings.

Small jobs do not create a problem because very little installation equipment is needed.
A major consideration for selecting the Pol-E-Base built-up Roofing System is it's very light weight. It weighs just a fraction of the typical built-roof. When application is re-covering an existing roof, weight is an important consideration. Most ponding water problems are a result of extra weight.
Both the White Plastic acrylic emulsion and the Pol-E-Base
are elastomeric
which
simply means they stretch. The polyester fabric also elongates which
produces a combination of a monolithic sheet over your building that moves with
expansion and contraction caused by temperature changes. Acrylic and polyester
do not dry out and crack like felt and asphalt. Elastomeric properties are
also important at the cant strips and parapet walls since these are areas where building
movement creates problems.
When a roof leaks, the first thing you want to know is where. The fact that it is leaking on your desk does not mean the leak is directly above you. If you have gravel on the roof it is difficult to identify problem areas. The Specification Chemicals Pol-E-Base Built-Up System provides a smooth surface and is an economical roof system that is easily maintained for many years. Maintenance includes inspecting the roof at least once a year for damage or defects from weather related expansion and contraction. Most problems are repaired with a small quantity of #1300 White Plastic and a paint brush.
At the end of 5 to 8 years, depending on climate and structure, you can renew the application by cleaning and recoating the surface with #1300 or 1300T Reflective White. No additional fabric is necessary, just clean , prime with #600 if chalky, and recoat. This option will extend the life of the roof through many cycles since the added weight is minimal.
Many times when water is coming into a building it is not the "Roof" that is leaking. Side walls, parapet surfaces and brick chimneys may be allowing water to come through mortar joints or cracks. The flexibility of the polyester and the waterproofing qualities of the liquid acrylic system are the best solutions to these problems.
The Pol-E-Base Built-up Roofing System is a fully adhered application. There are no screws to loosen and penetrate the surface. The polyester reinforcement fabric is saturated by the acrylic at the seams, forming a continuous membrane, even at roof jacks, skylights and other roof penetrations. There is no need to put tons of gravel on the roof to hold the surface down.
The white finish of the system provides a reflective surface that will save you money. All sorts of tests have been made by labs about percentages of reflective insulation showing that a white surface is better than any other. We know from our customers that the air conditioning costs will be less, not just in electricity but also the maintenance and life of the unit. The white surface also keeps the roof membrane cooler which slows down its weathering process.
