POL-E-BASE
#460 is a self adhering roll roofing product to be used as a repair or
total roof cover. POL-E-BASE is not intended to be a wearing surface and
must be coated after application with cold process asphalt or
acrylic coating. POL-E-BASE is a unique formulation of premium grade bituminous
resin, modified with synthetic resins and then reinforced with polyester
fabric (POL-E-FORCE). Application is recommended at air and surface
temperature of 40°F or above. POL-E-BASE has excellent adhesion to
clean wood, concrete, and metal. #80 Primer is recommended on
granular roofing surfaces and concrete.
The flexibility and conformability of POL-E-BASE over irregular surfaces, new or recover, is an important product advantage. The narrow width product is well suited for roof repair, roll roofing seams, metal building seams, roof jacks, skylights, mobile homes, over the road truck vans, grain bins, etc. The 24" and 36" rolls are used for both new construction and recover applications. The smooth surface provided by the exposed POL-E-FORCE reinforcing membrane makes an excellent substrate for cold applied asphalt or acrylic roof coatings. POL-E-BASE is not only waterproof but is also a vapor barrier. POL-E-BASE is easy to use - just apply the self adhering roll and coat the surface. |

Description: #465 SCREW-CAPS are 1
1/2" round die cut pieces of POL-E-BASE to be used as a seal over screws
that secure metal roof and side wall panels.
ADVANTAGES: #465 SCREW-CAPS are a simpler way to achieve excellent sealing quality on roof fasteners. They assure an even and complete cover over the screws. You may apply elastomeric coatings over the SCREW-CAPS immediately. If you use caulking, you must wait until it is cured before applying coating. Cold weather applications are possible with the use of an electric heat gun.
APPLICATION: Tighten or replace fasteners. Clean surrounding area thoroughly. Remove paper backing from the SCREW-CAP and center over the fastener. Place SCREW-CAP on fastener and form tightly around the fastener with thumb and forefinger. (Handmade tools are an option for application.) Coat with #1300T Reflective White Plastic or #1300 Gray White Plastic, or with an alternative coating..
